I was watching an experiment on BBC about how Humans try to create a sense of control over random events. It’s and irrational way of thinking about two seemingly connected yet unrelated events. If someone for example walks under a ladder and then later spills his coffee, the irrational thought is that the act of walking under the ladder is some how Unlucky.
I thought of how as a child growing up and part of my adult life, people around me would mention that a hot, windless day was somehow indicative of being Earthquake weather. Because earthquakes are probably the most unpredictable natural event. But I knew there had to be more to it. So being more rational than to think that every still day with high temperature was a prime earthquake day I took a class in geology
What i learned in this geology class is that there is no correlation between the plasticity of rock reaching its limit causing a break or fracture, which in turn causes the earthquake and the weather which occurs between ground level and 300ft above the surface.

Today I spent the afternoon walking a section of beach known as The Strand in the city of
Manhattan Beach. It was a very nice day and there were lots of people about. There were all sorts of camps for surf and volleyball and other stuff. The sun was very bright and the water was gorgeous and oddly for around this area quite clean. I didn’t get to photograph it but a hyooge bull sealion that popped up around these swimmers. It was so awesome but the COOLEST thing was this guy who was hanging over the edge of the pier. Lots of people thought he was going to jump off the pier but in actuality, he was looking to see where the small schools of fish were around the pylons holding up the pier. When he located them he cast his line. There were a lot of people fishing but the guy hanging over the edge of the pier was just catching fish like rapid fire. I had to photograph it.
In the span of 5 minutes this man caught 2 fish. Some of the other people out there fishing had been fishing for hours and hadn’t had a single bite, and here is this guy fishing and coming up with a fish almost every cast. What I also found humorous was that when he did bring the fish up from the sea, instead of keeping them like everyone else was intending to do, he would simply unhook them from the hook and toss them back into the ocean and begin again.

Yeah, I’m playing my sims 3 and this comes riding a bike down the street. I wasn’t even sure that I saw it at first. So I paused the game and searched the roads and sure enough, there is this alien THING on a bike. Whats happening actually is that there is a top for women that is actually topless. Meaning the breasts are exposed. If I knew the file name I would delete it. When it shows up on adults (and it does) it looks normal, when it shows up on children its down right scary.
